Topa appoints former Swiss Re Underwriters CEO to board

Specialty insurance platform Topa Insurance Group has boosted its board with the appointment of Judy Mann and Michael Day as directors.

Mann previously served as managing director of Swiss Re, member of the Americas management team, and president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Swiss Re Underwriters Agency from 2006 until her retirement in January 2015.

She also served as chief underwriting officer of Swiss Re Underwriters following Swiss Re’s acquisition of the California-based Underwriters Reinsurance Company in 2000.

Until his retirement in May 2015, Day was the chief financial officer for CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA).

While with CSAA, he served on the board of AAA Life Insurance Company for eight years, holding roles of board chairman and board vice chairman. He also chaired the Finance and the Nominating and Governance committees.

“Having worked with Michael in the past and known of Judy by reputation, I am very pleased that they are joining our Board,” said John Donahue, president and CEO of Topa Insurance Group. “I believe adding these two individuals will further enhance our already strong board as we position ourselves for profitable growth in a dynamic marketplace.”
