AXIS snaps up head of wholesale casualty from Navigators

AXIS Capital Holdings has recruited a senior executive from Navigators/Hartford to lead its primary & excess wholesale casualty business.

Anna Tan has joined AXIS as head of wholesale casualty.

Reporting to Michael McKenna, head of North America, Tan will play a key role in elevating the position of AXIS in the US wholesale casualty market in alignment with the company’s position as a specialty insurer.

Tan joins AXIS from Navigators, a brand of The Hartford, where she served for more than 12 years, most recently as head of excess casualty. Prior to that, she spent almost eight years at Starr Insurance Companies in underwriting and management positions.

“Anna brings extensive E&S casualty expertise in addition to strong leadership skills that are integral to building on our positions in the wholesale casualty market. These qualities will assist as we deepen our existing broker relationships, pursue additional sectors for profitable growth, and bolster our existing underwriting strength,” said McKenna.

“Anna joins AXIS North America at an exciting point in our journey as we target growth opportunities to support customers and partners by leveraging experienced underwriting talent and tailored specialty insurance solutions.”
