Ince & Co strengthens insurance offering with new hire
International law firm Ince & Co has hired Jennifer Donohue as a senior insurance partner.
Donohue is a transactional lawyer who specialises in the insurance and reinsurance markets. She has been hired to help strengthen the firm’s transactional offering to its insurance clients and those in its other core sectors.
Donohue has experience includes advising on financings in the insurance and banking sectors based upon forensic engineering and modelling. This includes the provision of regulatory capital, Solvency II and techniques such as the use of derivatives, insurance linked securities (ILS) and monetisations.
Her further experience includes advising insurance companies on mergers and acquisitions, capitalisations, reorganisations, structuring, policy and product development, and pre-insolvency strategies.
Prior to joining Ince & Co Donohue was a partner at Locke Lord in London. Prior to this, she was head of insurance and reinsurance at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.
Donohue’s recruitment forms part of Ince & Co’s agreed strategy to build its transactional capability in its core sectors of aviation, energy, insurance, international trade and shipping and to extend new business technologies to these sectors.
“I am excited about the potential for growth that Jennifer brings to our firm,” said Jan Heuvels, Ince & Co’s international senior partner.
“We have taken a strategic decision to grow our transactional practice in our core sectors and Jennifer’s recruitment marks another significant step in achieving our goal. In addition to the expertise that Jennifer will bring to our insurance clients, many of the techniques in which she specialises offer considerable opportunities for clients in our other core sectors.”
Donohue added: “I am thrilled to be joining a firm with such a strong brand which is dedicated to strengthening its transactional capability in its core sectors. The specialist skills that I have developed, and often pioneered, offer huge opportunities for many of Ince & Co’s existing clients.
“Coupled with the new clients that I will bring to the firm, the opportunities for growth are considerable.”
