Barbican strengthens property team
Barbican Group Holdings has appointed David Slade as an underwriting manager within the firm’s property division. He will report to James Winn, active underwriter, Syndicate 6113.
Slade was previously deputy head of global property at Travelers syndicate based in London, having joined the company in 2009. Prior to this, he spent 11 years at Catlin, where he rose to the position of class underwriter in the firm’s property division. He began his insurance career as a broker at Sedgwick.
Winn said: “David brings to our property team a perfect balance of technical property underwriting expertise and the ability to maintain strong bonds with his clients. I am confident that he will play a significant role in our efforts to develop and profitably grow the property insurance account at Barbican.”
Slade added: “I have always firmly believed that you can only achieve long-term, successful client relationships through regular contact and working in close partnership. Barbican is a company that works not only for, but with its clients and I look forward to helping strengthen existing relationships and build new ones as we look to expand and develop our standing in the property market.”
