BHSI poaches HDI-Gerling staff for marine operations
US-based Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (BHSI) has lured two HDI-Gerling executives as it makes its move into the marine insurance sector Australia and New Zealand.
The firm has appointed Dimitry Zilberud as head of marine and Mark Dixon as marine manager. They will be both based in the BHSI’s Sydney office.
Dimitry joins from HDI-Gerling where he served as marine underwriting manager, Australasia. Dixon also joins from HDI-Gerling where he served as northern region marine underwriting manager and senior marine underwriter.
Chris Colahan, president of BHSI’s Australasia region, said: “We are taking a flexible approach to marine risks, and are pleased to have Dimitry and Mark aboard to provide tailored solutions for customers and brokers navigating these exposures
BHSI has recently launched casualty, property, executive and professional and healthcare lines in Australia, along with property, casualty and financial lines in New Zealand.
