Ironshore International has expanded its mergers & acquisitions (M&A) insurance capabilities in the Asian market through Lloyd’s Japan.
Steven Harwood has been appointed as Ironshore’s Lloyd Pembroke Syndicate’s dedicated underwriter in Tokyo, where he will work with Lloyd’s Japan assisting corporate Japan’s continuing overseas expansion.
Harwood joins Pembroke from the law firm Herbert Smith Freehills, where he worked for more than ten years primarily in the firm’s leading Tokyo-based corporate mergers & acquisitions practice.
“Ironshore’s appointment of Steven demonstrates our commitment to the Japanese market and enhances our affiliation with Lloyd’s Japan,” said Robert Brown, global head of Ironshore M&A. “Steven’s experience and knowledge of Japan’s business landscape offer a distinct advantage to clients and advisors seeking local expertise for multifaceted transactions.”
Iain Ferguson, president of Lloyd’s Japan, added: “Dedicated underwriting proficiency in this business line is typically only available outside of Japan. This appointment by Pembroke Syndicate will certainly strengthen the value of our M&A offerings to the market.”
