Lockton Re launches new business unit under ex-Willis/Guy Carp executives
Global re/insurance broker Lockton Re has launched a new global mortgage and structured credit business unit, having recently hired a specialist in this area from rival Guy Carpenter.
The new segment will be co-led by Sean Hannah and Joe Koebele, who will work closely with the Lockton Re global team, including the specialty division based in London and led by Paul Upton, head of specialty, to drive the mortgage and structured credit segment offering to clients.
Hannah has been a part of the Lockton Re team since 2020. As an actuary and broker, he has been pivotal in the development of Lockton Re’s analytics platform as well as its deployment to better serve clients and markets. Prior to Lockton Re, Hannah was at Willis Re where he led the build out of their global mortgage and Structured Credit analytics capability.
Koebele recently joined Lockton Re with years of experience in reinsurance broking, specialising in mortgage and structured credit solutions. He spent the first part of his career in investment management across multiple asset classes. Joe was most recently senior vice president at Guy Carpenter.
Nick Durant, CEO, North America, Lockton Re, said: “We are excited to introduce our Mortgage and Credit offering to the market. Our growth story continues to be backed by the needs of our clients and the deep expertise of our team. With Sean and Joe at the helm, we will offer a unique platform rooted in technical knowledge and market experience that will drive meaningful value to both clients and (re)insurers.”
Keith Harrison, CEO, International, Lockton Re, added: “Our expertise and dexterity in working together as a global team allows us to bring so much more to our clients. We develop creative and focused programs to meet our clients' unique needs.”
