Little has changed for many years when it comes to the identity of the biggest brokers in the London Market: Aon, Willis and Marsh dominate. However, the next level down can be just as important and much more interesting if the time is taken to study the figures underpinning the next layer of players.
This tier is dominated by Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT), which reports figures this year still heavily influenced by its buying Lloyd & Partners in 2014, as well as the reinsurance broking business of Towers Watson in late 2013.
There are three component parts of JLT in the broking business and we have recorded the three separately here after dialogue with JLT about how best to represent its London Market-based operations.
