Arch Re US appoints former Alterra exec as CUO

Arch has appointed Joel Livingston as chief underwriting officer of its US reinsurance platform, Arch Reinsurance Company.

Livingston will have responsibility for the company’s underwriting policies and procedures and will report to Jerome Halgan, president of the firm.

He most recently served as chief operating officer at Alterra Reinsurance USA. After leaving Alterra in 2013, Livingston was part of the management team for proposed hedge fund reinsurer Golub Capital Re.
