AXIS appoints senior vice president

AXIS Accident & Health, a division of Bermuda-based AXIS Capital Holdings, has appointed Richard Phillips as senior vice president, chief underwriting officer of its North American Reinsurance Division.

With nearly 29 years of industry experience, Phillips was most recently president of Munich Health North America Reinsurance Division, where he was responsible for the management of Munich Health’s US health reinsurance business. At AXIS Accident & Health, the reinsurance underwriting staff will report to Phillips, who will also work closely with the business’s actuarial team.

Phillips, who will be based in Princeton, will report to Bolgar.
