Everest lures Zurich exec

Bermuda-based reinsurer Everest Re has appointed Michael Karmilowicz to lead Everest Specialty Underwriters (ESU), the management and professional liability unit of its US insurance operations.

Karmilowicz joins from Zurich North America, where he served as executive vice president and head of its management solutions group, responsible for a significant portfolio of management and professional liability lines of business.

He will begin the position with immediate effect and will be based in the firm’s New York office.
