French Federation of Insurance established from merger
The French Federation of Insurance (FFA) has been established following the merging of the French Federation of Insurance Companies (FFSA) and the Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (GEMA).
Both FFSA and GEMA organisations united has brought business insurance and reinsurance together operating in France with 280 companies which represent over 99 percent of the market.
It will be the representative spokesperson for the profession with public partners, private or associative in France and abroad.
With the unification of their representative bodies, insurers will enrich an organisation designed to meet the varied challenges affecting them, whether regulatory, digital, climatic or societal.
The executive council of the FFA has appeared in the house of insurance and made the appointment for the next three years with its three vice presidents.
Demurger Pascal is the president of the Association of Mutual Insurers and chief executive officer (CEO) of MAIF Group, Jacques Richier is the president of the French Federation of Insurance Companies Anonymous and CEO of Allianz France and Pierre Villeneuve, who is the president of the French Association of Bancassureurs and executive chairman of BNP Paribas Cardif.
On the proposal of the three vice presidents, the General Assembly elected FFA Bernard Spitz as its president for a term of three years.
Spitz said: “The unity of the insurance industry and reinsurance is a necessity for our profession. It will allow them to be heard more effectively, especially with the European authorities.
“I’ll see throughout my mandate with the support of the teams of the federation, to serve the best players in the insurance and reinsurance, to help meet the needs of their customers and members and contribute to radiate our profession in France and abroad.”
