IAG strengthens board

Insurance Australia Group (IAG) has strengthened its board with the appointment of Tom Pockett as a non-executive director.

Pockett is a non-executive director of Stockland Corporation, a director of Sunnyfield Independence Association and O'Connell St Associates.

He previously spent over 11 years as chief financial officer and over seven years as finance director with Woolworths, and retired from these roles in February 2014 and July 2014 respectively.

Additionally, non-executive director Peter Bush will retire, effective January 1, 2015.

Brian Schwartz, chairman of the board, said: “We are delighted to welcome Tom to the board. He brings significant financial, strategic and operational expertise along with a strong customer focus, and we look forward to his contribution."
