Lancashire hires energy & marine head

Lancashire Holdings has appointed James Flude as head of Energy & Marine for the company's UK operation, Lancashire Insurance Company.

Flude joins from Watkins Syndicate where he worked for 14 years, most recently as the energy underwriter and account manager. Flude will commence his role in January 2014.

Paul Gregory, chief underwriting officer of the UK operation, said: "I am really pleased that James is joining us. James is well known and respected in the energy market and adds further depth of experience to our existing energy and marine team."

James said: "I am excited to be joining Lancashire which has a very strong and proven track record. I look forward to working with the existing underwriting team to further develop what is an already successful energy and marine division."
