Marsh makes two senior appointments

Marsh has appointed Michael Cormier, who most recently led Marsh risk consulting, as head of portfolio development.

In this role, Cormier will support Marsh in accelerating growth and development through acquisitions, strategic alliances, and partnerships in line with the firm’s strategic priorities.

He is based in New York and will report to Courtney Leimkuhler, who will assume the role of chief financial officer of Marsh on March 1, 2015.

In addition, Michael Poulos has joined Marsh as head of client advisory services. In this role, Poulos will oversee Marsh risk consulting and claims advocacy with responsibility for aligning these offerings to ensure Marsh delivers industry-leading advisory and claims services to clients around the world.

Poulos joins Marsh from Oliver Wyman, an operating company of Marsh & McLennan Companies, where he most recently was head of the New York office, and the leader of the firm’s financial services business in the Americas.

Poulos is based in New York and will report to John Drzik, president, global risk and specialties.

Peter Zaffino, president and chief executive officer of Marsh, said: “Michael Cormier and Michael Poulos are proven leaders with excellent track records of delivering sustained growth and world-class advisory services. With these appointments, Marsh will be better positioned to expand the firm’s capabilities to assist our clients to thrive in today’s increasingly challenging risk environment.”
