Tokio Millennium Re appoints UK head
Tokio Millennium Re, the Zurich-based reinsurer, has appointed Mark Julian as head of its UK branch.
He replaces Takayuki Sumi, who is returning to Japan to assume a new role within the Tokio Marine group.
Julian joined Tokio Millennium Re (UK) in 2008 and assumed the dual role of chief risk officer and chief actuary in 2011.
Stephan Ruoff, chief executive officer of Tokio Millennium Re, said: “We are delighted to announce Mark’s promotion to head of TMRUK. The UK branch is an important part of our business strategy going forward and I have full confidence in Mark’s ability to take the branch to the next level.
“We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Taka for his accomplishments in making Tokio Millennium Re (UK) a successful and integral part of our reinsurance platform.
Julian added: “I am looking forward to taking up my new role at TMRUK. This is an exciting time for our UK branch as we transition over into the new company, providing our clients with access to the larger capital base and offering of TMR.”
