Pool Re hires OECD researcher
Pool Re, the mutual reinsurer that provides terrorism cover for commercial property in the UK, has appointed Rachel Carter as head of research and external affairs.
Carter joins from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) where she served as the key researcher in the design of its e-platform on terrorism risk insurance.
Julian Enoizi, chief executive of Pool Re, said: “Pool Re has undergone a rapid evolution in the past few months. The scheme is now more resilient and risk reflective. It has adapted to the needs of our members, stakeholders and to the requirement of a markedly different risk landscape from when the Pool was established. However, we cannot become complacent.
“The next step is to leverage our expertise and the collective experiences of pools across the globe to drive forward the debate on terrorism insurance and look to develop new innovative solutions. Rachel is an exceptionally talented executive who will play a key part in formulating the strategy behind the ongoing development of Pool Re. I am very pleased to welcome her to the team."
