Ace has appointed James Langdon, the Lloyd’s Market manager for energy within Ace global markets, as global head of upstream energy.
In his new role, Langdon will be responsible for the development of Ace’s upstream energy retail insurance portfolio across the company’s international network and he will continue to manage and build Ace’s expanding book of London-based wholesale business.
He will remain based in London, reporting to Matthew Hardy, senior vice president and global head of energy for Ace’s international division.
Langdon joined Ace 12 years ago in London as an underwriting assistant within the energy team.
Hardy said: “This newly-created role reflects the growing demand we are seeing from clients in the upstream energy sector for high-quality insurance and risk management solutions. It also underlines Ace’s commitment to meeting evolving customer needs both through the London wholesale market and by increasing our presence within the growing regional energy markets.
“James’s promotion is testimony to the strength and depth of underwriting talent we have within our team at Ace and I look forward to working with him in his new role.”
