Acrisure Re draws Guy Carpenter talent as global head of cat modelling
Acrisure Re, the reinsurance division of global insurance broker Acrisure, has hired a Guy Carpenter managing director to lead its global catastrophe modelling effort supporting re/insurance renewals and new opportunities.
Ming Li (pictured) has been appointed to the new role of managing director and global head of catastrophe modelling. Based in New York and will report to Michael Cross, president of Acrisure Re North America.
In his new role, Li will work closely with Acrisure Re's analytics team and business leaders to provide tailored capital solutions to clients by delivering data-driven insights, assisting with catastrophe risk management, enhancing business profitability and evaluating client needs and reinsurance options.
Li has 20 years of catastrophe modelling experience in the property and casualty re/insurance industry. He began his career in the industry in 2002 at Willis Towers Watson and gradually rose to the position of senior vice president. In 2013, he was appointed global head of catastrophe modelling at JLT Re. Most recently, following Marsh & McLennan’s acquisition of JLT in 2019, Dr. Li was a managing director at Guy Carpenter.
