Advent Solutions backs UK new insurance app Kinsu

Advent Solutions Management, a start-up incubator and insurtech investor, has entered into a partnership with UK-based insurance app Kinsu.

The new retail coverage app enables customers to insure specific items or entire home contents with a mobile phone, based in part on a photograph of the item. Coverage provided by underwriters at Lloyd’s renews monthly and can be cancelled at any time. Advent stated that it will provide a range of support services to Kinsu.

"With Advent’s backing, Kinsu CEO Chris Sharpe and his team have created a compelling proposition which will appeal especially to millennials,” said David Hill, managing director of Advent Solutions Management. “The whole concept was built with their social consciousness in mind, and backs our belief that insurance can be a force for good.”

Kinsu CEO Chris Sharpe commented: "We love working with Advent, they have risen to every challenge, offered unflinching support for our unusual ideas and most importantly been a whole lot of fun."
