AIG exec to drive XL’s growth in Brazil
XL Group has appointed Marcelo Zampronha as client and distribution leader with a brief to continue to drive the growth of the group’s insurance business in Brazil.
Zampronha joins XL from AIG Seguros where he held the position of channel manager, commercial insurance. He has worked in various senior business development roles at AON and Unibanco AIG Seguros in Brazil, and AIG in New York.
Renato Rodrigues, country manager of XL Group’s insurance operation in Brazil, said: “Brazil’s mid and large-sized as well as national and multinational corporations have gained strength and become more diverse, with a broad range of industries represented. But as these companies grow and diversify, so do the risks they face and managing complex risk has become an ongoing challenge.”
“In his new role, Marcelo is charged with providing brokers and clients with the valuable insights we have gained through our global network and underwriting expertise. This will ensure they have the right coverage in place to continue growing and operating in today’s complex world.
“Brazil is a growth market for us and I am confident that Marcelo has the expertise and energy to drive XL Group’s insurance business forward.”
