AIG hires RSA executive

AIG has appointed Ian Cummings to the post of Northern Ireland business development manager based in Belfast.

Cummings is a chartered insurer and has 28 years’ experience in the Belfast market. He joins AIG from RSA, where he had worked since 1986, including in a number of leadership roles in sales, trading and operations management.

Jeremy Sharpe, head of sales, UK zone, said: “Ian is a very valuable addition to the team and he brings to his new role deep insurance experience combined with knowledge of the local market that is second-to-none.

“He joins AIG at an important time as we restructure our distribution function to provide brokers and customers with better visibility and access to locally empowered decision makers across underwriting and distribution. Ian will be responsible for relationship management, new business development and renewal retention across AIG’s distribution network in Northern Ireland.”
