AJG exec appointed chairman of LIIBA

Arthur J Gallagher, the international division of Arthur J Gallagher & Co, has announced that Andrew Agnew, its managing director of specialty and a member of the Executive Committee, has been made chairman of the London & International Insurance Brokers’ Association (LIIBA).  Agnew succeeds Steve Hearn of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford. Agnew has served as deputy chairman of the Association for the past two years. He joined Arthur J Gallagher in May 2011 from Jardine Lloyd Thompson, where he had served as chairman of its London market specialty arm since 2007. Grahame Chilton, chief executive officer of Arthur J Gallagher International, said: “It is fantastic news that Andrew has been appointed as chairman of LIIBA. He has the perfect blend of experience, knowledge and candor to successfully represent and promote the voice of the wider London Market community and we are proud to have one of our leadership team in such an important role.”
