Alesco hires Howden construction exec

Boutique broker Alesco Risk Management Services has appointed Paul Lewis as a partner within its construction business.

Lewis will join later this year and report to John Thompson, managing partner of Alesco’s construction division.

He will take responsibility for day-to-day operations and accelerating the growth of the division’s wholesale business, initially focussing on the US, Canada and Central and South America.

Lewis joins from Howden Broking Group where he jointly led and helped to expand its construction division. Prior to this he was partner and head of broking, construction and real estate at JLT.

Thompson said: “Alesco’s construction business has enjoyed rapid growth in the past year and Paul’s extensive product knowledge, management expertise and exceptional reputation in this sector will further enhance the team’s skill set and help us to drive forward our plans for growth.

“Paul will help build on the current momentum and having him on the team will be a tremendous asset as we look to further capitalise on the significant potential for Alesco particularly in key areas such as the US, Canada, Asia and South America.”
