Allianz (AGCS) revamps financial lines leadership in the UK

Allianz Group's specialist corporate insurer  Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has revamped the leadership of its financial lines business in the regional unit London (RUL) & Nordics team, which covers the UK, Ireland, Nordic countries and the Middle East.

AGCS said financial lines, including directors and officers (D&O), professional indemnity (PI) and cyber, is a key strategic area for the company as it looks to expand its solutions across product lines.

Tindal has over 20 years of experience in underwriting and management roles with large corporate insurers in North America.

Additionally, Martin Stewart has been promoted to D&O underwriting manager, responsible for driving the portfolio strategy for D&O in the current market conditions. He has over 15 years' experience in financial lines roles at different carriers, both in Glasgow and London, and previously chairperson of the IUA D&O Underwriting Group.

James McGuire has been appointed head of financial institutions (FI) with responsibility for the regional team and for executing the strategic direction of FI as the company seeks to profitably grow this book. Currently UK FI underwriting manager, McGuire has over 20 years’ of experience.

In the cyber team, Michela Moro is named cyber underwriting manager, responsible for driving account retention and business growth opportunities in the regional cyber market. She joined AGCS in 2020 as senior cyber underwriter, bringing over 10 years of experience from previous roles held in finance, strategy, financial lines and cyber across different European countries and the London market.

Stefania Davi-Greer, regional head of financial Lines, AGCS RUL & Nordics, said: “I’m thrilled to see these internal promotions in our D&O, FI and Cyber underwriting teams. The appointments demonstrate the depth of expertise and talent we have across our organisation in Financial Lines, and means we continue to be expertly positioned to support our clients’ and brokers’ needs in these vitally important areas of risk.”

Alfredo Alonso, regional managing director of RUL & Nordics AGCS, added: “I am very pleased to welcome these new appointments for our region. They are four very experienced and well respected candidates that will help us to drive our market-leading ambitions for the ‘New AGCS’ forwards. This also demonstrates Allianz’s commitment to nurturing and developing our employees and to facilitating internal company moves across geographies and product lines for the benefits of our teams and our customers.”
