Allianz appoints retail director from Tesco
Allianz Insurance has appointed Gary Davess, formerly of Tesco Bank, to its retail division as director, specialty and direct. He succeeds Neil Brettell who joined the Allianz management board as general manager, retail division in January this year.
In his new role, Davess will be responsible for Allianz’s direct motor and home business, as well as Petplan.
He joins the company from Tesco Bank, where he was commercial director, having held responsibilities for car, home, pet, travel and life insurances. He previously worked for RSA in a number of roles including commercial director, affinity business and personal lines underwriting director.
Neil Brettell, general manager, retail, said: “Gary brings a wealth of experience to this role and his input will be invaluable as we pursue our goal of becoming a top five retail insurer.”
Davess added: “Allianz has set some challenging targets for the Retail business and I am excited at the prospect of playing a part in growing the business.”
