Allianz names former AXA UK CEO Paul Evans as chairman

Allianz Holdings has appointed Paul Evans as non-executive chairman. He will also chair Allianz Insurance and LV= General Insurance Group.

Evans will join the board as chairman elect on November 1, 2020 and will take over from current chair, Rick Hudson, on his retirement in April 2021.

Evans is a chartered accountant who spent 13 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers and 17 years at AXA where he held a number of senior roles including Group CEO, AXA UK and Group CEO, AXA Global Life, Savings and Health. He is also a former chairman of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and currently holds non-executive roles with BUPA and Swiss Re.
