Allianz reshuffles leadership to expand regional UK market presence
Allianz Insurance, a subsidiary of Allianz Holdings, has restructured its commercial business in a move to expand its regional market presence in the UK.
The changes include bringing together its former Commercial Broker Markets and the EC&P trading businesses. Meaning there will now be four regional managers whose roles have been extended to include responsibility for the engineering construction & power (EC&P) distribution and underwriting operations.
The North (Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester), Northern Ireland (Belfast) & Scotland (Glasgow) will be led by Chris Everett as regional manager. Mike Thomas will take charge of the South (Southampton, Chelmsford, Maidstone), with Patrick Flannery managing the Midlands (Birmingham), South West (Bristol) and Wales (Cardiff). Tom Leonard will lead the London, Lloyds & London Market Real Estate markets.
Allianz said its aim is to expand its regional market presence and build on its expert focus whilst enabling simplicity, efficiency and agility in decision making.
It hopes the new structure will create further opportunities for its people to develop themselves, with some new roles and broader responsibilities.
AS part of the changes, led by chief distribution and regions officer, Nick Hobbs (pictured), Allianz has appointed Jonathan Oldfield to the newly created role of head of customer and distribution for EC&P. Oldfield will report to Hobbs, and work within and across the new regional structure, leading continued development of the EC&P specialism.
Hobbs said: “Bringing together the two parts of the business with different expertise and utilising their strengths to help each other, that is a great combination and has huge potential for further success.
“We believe this move sets us up to bring the best of Allianz to all of our customers and brokers.”
