Allied World expands D&O underwriting team

Allied World Assurance Company Holdings has appointed Marc Berner as vice president of public and private financial institutions, directors and officers (D&O), effectively immediately.

Berner will be joining Allied World’s North American public D&O underwriting team, and will be based in New York.

Berner has almost 20 years of experience within management liability insurance, having most recently served as the department head of the financial services division at Hartford Financial Products.

Here Berner had national responsibility for all aspects of underwriting executive liability and fidelity lines for financial institutions and private equity firms.

Prior to Hartford, he spent eight years as vice president of the financial institutions division at Axis Insurance.
