Amanda Blanc takes advisory role at Trov

Amanda Blanc has joined insurance technology platform Trov as senior advisor.

Most recently, Blanc was the chief executive of Zurich Insurance Group, EMEA and global banking partnerships. She was responsible for $25 billion revenues, $2.5 billion underlying earnings, 20,000 employees and 33 million customers across property and casualty, life and bancassurance segments.

In addition, she was the chair of Zurich Insurance and was the most senior executive woman within the Zurich Group.

Blanc joined Zurich in 2018 from success at AXA Group where she was the group chief executive of AXA UK, PPP & Ireland. She moved to AXA in 2011 from Towergate Insurance Brokers where she was deputy group chief executive, completing over 60 acquisitions at the consolidator.

She has also held senior executive roles at Groupama Insurance Company and has held management responsibilities at Ernst & Young and Aviva.

Blanc has wide-ranging board experience having chaired many organisations, subsidiaries, and committees and sat on various regulated boards across Europe. She is the former chair of the Association of British Insurers, a past president of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a former chair of the Insurance Fraud Bureau, a previous chair of the ABI’s General Insurance Committee, a past member of the UK Takeover Panel and the first chair of a commercial insurance start-up, Eaton Gate.

Blanc is focused on the areas of innovation, digital, fintech, and big data; the customer; fraud, risk, and regulation; and gender parity, diversity, and inclusion. She has been named Woman of Achievement by Women in the City, twice been voted the UK Insurer CEO’s CEO of the Year (2013 and 2015) and been included on the 2019 list of Yahoo Finance’s 100 Women Executives.

Blanc is currently is leveraging her experience and influence across a number of positions including her recently announced appointments to the boards of directors of Aviva Insurance and specialty auto insurer ERS, where she’s set to become its chairperson in 2020.

Trov is the only global insurtech business for which Blanc will be an advisor.
