Antares launches A&H division; hires two underwriters

Antares at Lloyd’s, a member of QIC Group, has launched its accident and health division with the appointments of Roger Perry as accident and health manager and Paul Beggy as an underwriter, both effective immediately.

Perry has more than 25 years of industry experience, having most recently served as class underwriter, accident and health, as ProSight.

Beggy also joins from ProSight, having served as an accident and health underwriter since 2014.

Joe Battle, active underwriter said: “The Accident and Health Sector has been a target area for Antares for some time. As a class it dovetails well with our existing specialties and allows for further diversification of our portfolio.

“However, to realise our ambitions in this class we recognised that we needed to secure the requisite talent who could grow a profitable book from a standing start in difficult market conditions with individuals who possess the drive and expertise to quickly differentiate our offering.

“Roger and Paul have an exemplary track record in this class and they have proven their ability to build leading books of business. I am very pleased to welcome them to Antares.”
