Aon Benfield entices PartnerRe exec
Aon Benfield has appointed Thomas Sass as a managing director within its US accident, health and life practice.
In his new role, Sass will be based in Minneapolis and will report to Roger Smith, senior managing director of Aon Benfield accident, health and life.
His responsibilities will include driving new business growth in the healthcare sector, leading client teams, and creating and maintaining a robust business environment that is supportive to optimising client results.
Sass has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance sectors, having held senior executive positions at ING/ReliaStar, Allianz, KMG America, Presidio Reinsurance Group and most recently at PartnerRe Health.
Smith said: “The healthcare space is particularly dynamic at the moment, with a broad array of clients from health plans to insurance carriers facing a multitude of challenges as regards risk mitigation and optimal capital management. Tom’s experience, his deep understanding of the many dynamics in healthcare, and his enthusiasm and energy will serve our current and future clients well. “We have known him for many years, and we are honoured that he elected to join our team.
