Aon shakes up global broking, specialty leadership in expansion move

Re/insurance broker Aon has promoted five senior executives within its commercial risk solutions unit, in a move it hopes will help expand the company's broking and specialty business globally.

Hugo Wegbrans has been appointed as global chief broking officer (CBO), responsible for leading and coordinating Aon’s chief broking officer network. He will remain Aon’s CBO for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Wegbrans has served in several key roles in nearly 30 years with Aon.

Richard Dudley, CEO of global broking center (GBC), will continue to lead Aon's GBC in the UK and spearhead a seamless operating model that will span across teams in the UK, Singapore and Bermuda.

Cynthia Beveridge, president of Aon Broking, will continue to drive the company's broking strategy with a renewed focus on global carrier management. She will be responsible for carrier and claims management and collaborating with global teams. Beveridge has served in a variety of key roles during her nearly 30-year career at Aon.

Finally, Gerard Guterl and Lee Meyrick have been named co-leaders of global specialties. Guterl is a 25-year Aon veteran, and Meyrick joined Aon in 2017. In addition to their co-leader positions, they will maintain their current global specialty roles as CEOs of professional services and marine, respectively.

“These broking and specialty leadership appointments will accelerate our efforts to bring world-class, industry-leading solutions to our clients, solving their most challenging risk needs,” said Lambros Lambrou, CEO of commercial risk solutions of Aon. “Our capabilities play a pivotal role in demonstrating our commitment to provide innovative solutions that help clients across the globe.”
