Apollo Group taps 30-year DARAG-Canopius-Aegis vet to oversee growth

Apollo Group, an independent specialist insurer and reinsurer at Lloyd’s, has tapped a 30-year veteran from DARAG, Canopius and Aegis to help its board push for new growth.

Stuart Davies (pictured) brings 30 years of experience across senior financial sector roles, including a tenure as chairman of DARAG, group CEO of Sompo Canopius, and ten years as CEO at Aegis London. Davies retains a partnership at private equity firm Keyhaven Capital.

At  Apollo, he takes a non-executive board post for supervising growth efforts.

Apollo group CEO David Ibeson said: “I am delighted to welcome Stuart to  Apollo. He brings a wealth of experience to our group board and his knowledge and external perspective will be integral to the next stages of the group’s expansion. We look forward to working with him.”
