Apollo introduces aviation business

Lloyd’s Apollo Syndicate 1969 is planning to add aviation as a class of business and participate in ANV Syndicate’s planned consortia.

In a Lloyd’s auction disclosure, the ANV-managed unit said that its forecast for 2015 included a stamp capacity of £160 million, a 14.3 percent pre-emption on the 2014 capacity.

Apollo said that the addition of aviation was not a move that was foreseen in its July submission, but that it had hired a “well regarded class underwriter” for the business line.

It added that it was developing its organisational structure with the aim of becoming an independent managing agency

Syndicate 1969 is set to participate in ANV Syndicate’s aviation consortium, led by Syndicate 1969, and accident and health consortium, led by ANV Syndicate 1861.
