Apollo mulls strategic expansion with ‘critical’ hire from Beazley

Specialist re/insurer  Apollo Syndicate Management has hired a senior Beazley executive to head up and further develop its terrorism and political violence business.

Andrew Page (pictured) joins the company as head of terrorism and political violence, reporting to Chris King, head of crisis management.

Page has more than 15 years of industry experience. He joins Apollo from Beazley, where he spent a decade underwriting terrorism and political violence in both London and Singapore.

David Ibeson, Apollo Group CEO, said: “Andrew’s arrival is a critical element of our strategic expansion plan for the terrorism and political violence line of business, which Chris has spearheaded.  Chris will now focus on further developing the crisis management division, strengthening Apollo’s multi line offering including political risk and specialty disruption insurance solutions. With Andrew’s focus on innovative collaboration and developing wordings and creative solutions, we are sure that our clients will reap significant benefits from his appointment.”

Page commented: “I am looking forward to joining Apollo and working with Chris to further build out the terrorism and political violence team. This line of business is ever relevant and evolving and it is more important than ever that we offer clients a choice of products and services that truly meet their needs.”
