Apollo unveils senior hire from AmTrust at Lloyd’s to expand ibott

Specialist re/insurer  Apollo Syndicate Management has hired an AmTrust at Lloyd’s underwriting talent to further expand its ibott business, which stands for ‘insuring businesses of tomorrow, today’.

Jahangez Chaudhery joins the company as an occupational accident underwriter. He will report to Chris Moore, head of ibott.

Chaudhery has nearly 20 years of industry experience in the London and Lloyd’s market. He was most recently joint head of accident and health at AmTrust at Lloyd’s. Prior to that, he was deputy head of accident and health at Talbot Underwriting for five years. Chaudhery started his career at AIG, where he spent eight years.

Apollo said his knowledge and market relationships will be integral to building ibott’s occupational accident offering to complement the current specialist auto and general liability lines.

David Ibeson (pictured), chief executive officer of Apollo, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jahangez to Apollo. He is a strong leader and an effective communicator with proven profit-driving ability. Occupational Accident is now a key insurance purchase for our clients and as such we are building the capability at ibott to provide comprehensive solutions across different insurance lines to further bolster our strong client partnerships. This is an exciting time for Apollo, as we continue to grow, with a number of senior hires and our recent capital raise.”
