Arch boosts fintech presence with hires from Alphabet’s X and Nationwide
Speciality insurance company Arch Capital Group has appointed two tech experts to its board of directors.
The company said Francis Ebong (pictured right) and Eileen Mallesch (pictured left) will strengthen its fintech presence.
Ebong is currently managing director of program management at Alphabet’s X - formerly Google X - where he is tasked with launching technologies to improve the lives of billions of people. He previously led the team responsible for the launch of Facebook’s Marketplace and Messenger services, and has experience working at Apple and Deloitte.
Mallesch has more than three decades of finance and risk experience, including serving as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Nationwide’s property and casualty segment, and also has broad finance and business strategy expertise in the insurance, telecommunications and consumer products industries.
Chairman of Arch Capital’s nominating and governance committee, Jack Bunce, said: “Francis’ background in cutting-edge technology combined with Eileen’s extensive financial, insurance and board experience will enhance our overall capabilities, specifically in the area of fintech transformation and identifying opportunities that lie ahead for the financial world.”
John Pasquesi, chairman of Arch Capital’s board of directors, added: “Our long-term success requires us to regularly assess and refresh the array of professional experiences and perspectives of our board members.”
