Arch hires former AIG head of A&H

Arch Insurance Group has appointed James Slate as senior vice president and head of accident and health (US), based in Jersey City.

Succeeding Richard Richiski who retired earlier in the year, Slate will have management oversight for Arch’s US-based accident and health (A&H) underwriting and sales teams, and will report to Michael Price, chief underwriting officer.

Slate has 26 years of industry experience, having most recently served as head of accident and health (US) at AIG.

Prior to this, he had held senior accident and health, travel management and underwriting positions with AIG and Allianz.

Further to this appointment, Arch Insurance named Carol Adams as senior vice president of underwriting for accident and health (US), reporting to Slate.
