Arcus 1856 hires former Berkley Re property underwriter
Arcus Syndicate 1856, part of Barbican Insurance Group, has expanded its team with the appointment of a specialist property treaty underwriter.
Sarah Smith will report to active underwriter at Arcus, Nicky Payne.
Smith most recently served as property treaty underwriter at Berkley Re UK, which she joined in 2014 and focused on developing the firm's international property treaty portfolio.
Prior to that, she was an underwriting operations manager at Advent Capital Holdings, and a property treaty underwriter at Everest Reinsurance.
"We are delighted to announce another addition to our underwriting team," Payne said. "Sarah is a highly driven and focused underwriter, with a proven track record for realising new opportunities for growth.
"She has a multi-faceted skills base with vast experience in the property treaty arena, along with a great working knowledge of all aspects of the underwriting process and a strong compliance background.
