Argo taps Markel exec as head of environmental

Specialty re/insurer Argo Group International Holdings has hired David Corry as senior vice president, head of environmental, based in Chicago.

Corry joins Argo Environmental from Markel, where he was senior director of environmental and energy insurance. He has previously worked at Crum & Forster as a casualty underwriting manager and then nearly 20 years at Chubb as an assistant vice president.

He will report to SVP, US operations Marsh Duncan, who oversees Argo Group’s environmental, inland marine, and contract P&C lines of business.

“With 35 years of underwriting experience, David brings to the team deep technical expertise and a strong background in casualty and complex environmental underwriting,” said Duncan. “Argo Environmental is known for its excellent coverages and broad underwriting capabilities. I look forward to David building further on our successes and taking the business to even greater heights.”
