ArgoGlobal appoints new active underwriter for Lloyd's Syndicate 1200
Lloyd's insurer and member of Argo Group, ArgoGlobal, has appointed John Moffatt to serve as active underwriter for Syndicate 1200, replacing Steve Eccles who is leaving the company immediately.
Moffatt has over 25 years' experience specialising in international direct, facultative and coverholder business. He previously served as the head of ArgoGlobal’s specialty business since 2015. He joined ArgoGlobal in 2010 as class underwriter for accident and health before assuming responsibility as deputy of the property division in 2013. Prior to that, he served at QBE European Operations managing their accident and health portfolio.
Moffatt will report to Matt Harris, group head of international operations.
“ArgoGlobal continues to strengthen a growing bench of top-tier talent, and I’m pleased to have John in this critical position,” said Harris. “John’s proven track record and long-standing relationships within Lloyd’s will serve us well as we continue to reposition our Lloyd’s book of business.”
