Ascent-Cove group company Optio enters A&H market

Optio Underwriting, which comprises MGAs Cove Programs, Ascent Underwriting and Bay Risk Services, has launched an accident and health (A&H) division with the appointment of Darren Delande.

Delande joins Optio from Sure Insurance Services, where he served as senior underwriter. He has more than 15 years of experience as an accident and health underwriter, having established binding authorities with blue-chip company and Lloyd’s carriers.

In his new role, Delande will underwrite and manage a profitable portfolio of worldwide PA and healthcare business. He will report to Optio Group CUO Paul Western.
