Ascot poaches political risk SVP from AIG

London-based Ascot Underwriting has appointed Ray Antes as executive underwriter with responsibility for its political risk team. He starts at Ascot in June.

Antes joins Ascot from AIG, where he served as senior vice president of AIG Europe with responsibilities including global profit centre manager and chief underwriter for the political risk division.

Andrew Brooks, chief executive officer of Ascot, said: "I am delighted to welcome Ray to Ascot. With his pre-eminent position in the market he will enhance what is already a first class team, building on the strength of our current business and expanding our offering to clients."

Antes added: "I am looking forward to joining Ascot and helping the team to deliver continued growth and profitability."
