Aspen appoints international head of onshore energy and construction

The insurance segment of Aspen Insurance Holdings, Aspen Insurance, has appointed Erik Armellino as international head of onshore energy and construction.

The company said that he will lead the expansion of Aspen International Insurance’s onshore energy and construction lines of business, and will report to Ann Haugh, president of Aspen International Insurance and chief operating officer of Aspen Insurance.

Armellino has more than 20 years of experience managing a broad range of energy and construction insurance products.

He has previously worked as head of underwriting performance and head of property direct and facultative at Advent Underwriting and also worked as global head of heavy industries and as the deputy regional manager for the energy and construction segments at Liberty International.

Prior to this, Armellino has also held underwriting leadership positions with AIG in London and started his career as a risk engineer for Factory Mutual Group.

Haugh said: "This appointment expands further our international insurance product offering and we are delighted that Erik is joining Aspen Insurance at this exciting time for our business.”
