Aspen Re names MD for Asia Pacific

Aspen Re, the reinsurance segment of Aspen Insurance Holdings, has appointed Philip Hough as managing director (MD) for Asia Pacific.

Based in Singapore, Hough will report to Thomas Lillelund, chief executive officer of Aspen Re.

Hough has almost 25 years of experience in re/insurance, having most recently served as head of property treaty underwriting in Europe, and global product head for the international property pro rata and per risk treaty portfolio.

He joined Aspen in November 2005 as a senior property reinsurance treaty underwriter.

Prior to Aspen, Hough served as a vice president at Transatlantic Re, based in Paris.

Lillelund commented: “I am delighted that we have appointed someone of Philip’s calibre to this important role. We have a highly successful business across the Asia-Pacific region and Philip’s international experience and outstanding leadership skills will help us as we continue to build our franchise across the region.”
