Aspen swoops on rival Arch for top US distribution post

Re/insurer Aspen has picked a new head of US distribution from Bermudian rival Arch Insurance Group to drive growth through wholesale brokers across a variety of product lines.

Nick Acker (pictured) joined Aspen in December 2022 after spending the last 10 years at Arch in various senior distribution roles, most recently as vice president, wholesale and distribution management. Prior to Arch, he spent time at both ACE Group and The Hartford.

In his new role, Acker will be responsible for developing Aspen’s relationships with broking partners within the US. He will be based in Chicago.

Jonny Atkinson, group chief business development officer, said: “Nick’s comprehensive understanding of the US market and strong broker relationships makes him an excellent addition to the Aspen team. We look forward to further building on our deep relationships with our key strategic distribution partners and continuing to support them and their clients.”
