Asta’s MGA platform hires former Capita exec
Asta Underwriting Management (AUM), the recently launched managing general agent (MGA) platform of Asta Capital, has appointed John Holm as executive of MGA investments.
Holm joins the firm from Capita Commercial Insurance Services, where he served as executive director.
Prior to that, he was the director of corporate banking at Clydesdale Bank and has also held senior positions at National Australia Bank and RBS.
“Asta is well-positioned to take advantage of the opportunities that the vibrant MGA market offers. I’m joining AUM at an exciting time and I look forward to playing my part in making AUM a successful asset to both Asta and the market as a whole,” said Holm.
Julian Tighe, chief executive officer (CEO) of Asta, added: “John is an important addition to the AUM team. He brings with him a long and successful track record of developing portfolios across the insurance industry.
“John’s appointment is further evidence of Asta’s commitment to deliver our objective of building MGA’s through joint ventures and strategic partnerships.”
The appointment follows the recent announcement of Sian Fisher’s role as a non-executive director of AUM.
