Atec unveils senior hire to support growth in 2023

Insurance group Atec has hired a former  AXA executive with almost 30 years of experience in the general insurance market to support the next phase of growth for the business.

Ant Sherlock (pictured) joins Atec as group distribution partnerships director.

Sherlock started his career at AXA in 1996 and spent 18 years in various roles across the business, eventually working his way up to business manager of insurance, commercial & personal intermediary. For the last 10 years, Sherlock has been working in the MGA space, managing strategic partners, networks and specialist brokers across various niche products, holding senior roles at Prestige Underwriting and Midas Underwriting.

Sherlock joins Atec from Geo Personal Lines (Ardonagh), where, as head of sales and distribution he was responsible for driving growth, income and target loss ratio performance across standard and non-standard household and let products.

Atec comprises several brands including Ceta Insurance, InsureMy and Arkel Underwriting. Sherlock will work closely with the existing leadership team to support the group’s growth.

Brendan Devine, Atec Group CEO, said: “Ant’s extensive experience, knowledge and significant insurance industry network will be a huge asset to the business, helping to increase distribution of Atec’s products across existing and new trading platforms.

“Ant’s deep knowledge of the industry across multiple personal lines products has positioned him as a well-established authority within the field. His experience speaks for itself and his collaborative approach to culture and leadership will be instrumental in driving the growth of our Atec portfolio.

“This appointment reflects our commitment to investing in exceptional individuals at what is an exciting time for the Atec Group, following a record year in 2022. Ant, as a strong product expert and leader, will be able to provide the best possible solutions for an expanding team and market.”

Sherlock commented: “I am really looking forward to joining this fast-growing business at such an exciting time. The growth Atec group has experienced over the past few years has been hugely impressive, and given the breadth of knowledge within the business, its unique suite of products and its ability to utilise big data and real-time market intelligence puts it a step ahead of the rest.

“Atec Group is a company that is easily recognised as one of the market leaders and I look forward to joining in May and supporting the group in fulfilling their vision and achieving our goals for 2023 and beyond.”
