Atlas forms specialty division
Atlas General Insurance Services, a national multi-line programme manager, has formed a new specialty division which will be headed by Scott Polkinghorne, who will be based in New York.
Atlas Specialty Programs will develop new programmes for specialty property and casualty lines of insurance across the US.
“Atlas Specialty Programs will complement Atlas’ sizable workers compensation business, allowing for a broader product offering for its’ valued customer base,” said Polkinghorne.
Polkinghorne has over 35 years of experience in all facets of the insurance industry to include retail, wholesale, MGA and reinsurance.
He began his career at Aon in Australia and has since held positions in both the London and US marketplace. Since 2000, he has been responsible for the establishment of Benfield Fac Solutions, JLT Re and Lockton Re. Most recently, Polkinghorne was a director at US RE and was responsible for US Re’s new business origination.
